O Level Compositions

Hello there...

Some handy tips for the teachers New to O level system i.e. Cambridge Examination System worldwide:

Keep in your mind that it is not the system promoting Rote learning. It demands the candidate to respond in variety of manner, style, understanding, application, and approach.

You must explore the ways to enable your students explore their embeded abilities. Encourage them to think on the issues with their own approach and find the solutions to overcome their weaknesses, especialy of composition.

You might like to start your Composition lessons by thought provoking questions; like:
if you wish your students to write on "Teamwork" or "That would be wrong to criticise others, wehn I'm unsure of the concept". The better way, perhaps, would be the few minutes of prior writing discussion, lead by You. The two topics evidently are different in nature. So must be  approach towards each one of them.

Lets take "Teamwork", ask students, ideally, in a very friendly manner: what is their first impression of the topic? Do they have any idea what content it potentially require to construct a good, reasonable response? Will they write about the success story of any sport event and concluding the spirit of Teamwork, or they would like to emphasise the importance of working coherently of all the membrs of it?

I hope to writing more in the context soon, meanwhile take a look at
